Navis One FAQs

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you can’t find the answer to your question, please don't hesitate to contact our team and we will gladly assist in any queries you have.

Where is Navis One moored?

Depending on the time of year, Navis One is moored in Phuket, Thailand. However, the yacht can be delivered to anywhere you request in the region, such as Langkawi, Koh Samui, or even Cambodia, Vietnam or Myanmar.

What is and is not included in the daily rate?

Included in the daily rate is the yacht and the crew.

Do I pay for fuel?

If you opt for an APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) charter then fuel is charged on top of the standard day rate, however we can also do an all inclusive rate where fuel is included in the total.

When do I pay?

50% to confirm your booking with Navis One and then the remaining balance 7 days prior to embarkation.

How can I find out more about Navis One's price?

Prices start at USD 30,000 per day. However, as every charter and voyage is so unique, the best option is to get in touch with us on +66 (0) 83 110 5302 or via info@navisoneyacht.com to discuss costs. This enables us to give you a precise figure based on your requirements.

What are my payment options?

Our preferred method of payment is via bank transfer.

Do I pay gratuity?

Tipping is purely at the guest’s discretion. If you are happy with the level of service you have received from the Captain and crew, a gratuity of about 5% of the base charter fee is customary. The gratuity must be given to the yacht manager or Captain so it can be equally divided between all the members of the crew, including the ones you may not see who are working just as hard behind the scenes.

Does the rate include VAT? 

Currently there is a 17% tax on all charterers starting in Thai waters.  However, this can be avoided by boarding in Langkawi where there is no tax, and disembarking in Phuket.

Is there a contract involved?

Yes, there is a charter contract involved.

What if I have to cancel my charter?

Should you have to cancel your Navis One charter we ask that you do so in writing up to 30 calendar days prior to your charter start date, and we will refund 50% of the full charter cost. Please refer to the terms of payment for full details on Navis One charter cancellation policy.

Is there a minimum length of charter?

There is no minimum or maximum number of days you can charter Navis One.

How are the rates calculated?

The rates are calculated depending on the time of year, how long you wish to charter the yacht for and what you have requested, such as your preferred destinations or a specific route.

When is the high/low season?

South East Asia is a vast and varied region with asynchronous weather patterns and seasons. Please contact us to discuss the seasons of specific areas you are interested in chartering Navis One.

How do I get to Navis One?

We are more than happy to organise an executive transfer from your hotel/airport or where ever you are to the yacht. Please specify at time of booking.

Do I need a passport?

Yes, we recommend that you carry your personal identification.

Will I need a visa?

Depending on your nationality, choice of destination and whether you will disembark from the yacht. The Navis One team will work with you to ensure that all of these details are taken care of.

Should I purchase travel insurance?

We would always recommend taking out medical and travel insurance.

Can I smoke on board?

Smoking is not permitted inside the yacht for safety reasons. However outside on the decks you are able to smoke.

Am I permitted to use Navis One's scuba equipment?

The use of scuba equipment is strictly for the use of certified divers holding a PADI license or equivalent. We can arrange for a divemaster to be onboard but you must bring proper certification.  However, also note that some of the region’s best diving areas can also be enjoyed by snorkeling and seabobbing.

How should I pack?

We recommend that you bring soft sided luggage as it is easiest to store in the cabin compartments.  We have a full laundry and ironing service on board and so you can travel with a smaller wardrobe if you like. 

Can I specify food and beverage preferences and/or allergies?

Before the charter, the Navis One team will ensure that we get all of your personal preferences and wishes for when you are onboard.

Can I bring my own chef?

Yes, you can. Should you wish to have a special chef cook for you onboard for an evening to remember, let us know and we will help make it possible.

Will the captain dine with us?

As a general rule, no - your privacy is of the utmost importance. Should you wish the company of your captain, please ask ahead of time, so that his duties can be scheduled accordingly.

How can I be reached onboard?

The yacht is equipped with satellite communications, so full internet is available at all times.

What is the maximum occupancy onboard Navis One?

The yacht has five suites that comfortably accommodate up to 14 people overnight and up to 60 people for day trips.

How fast is Navis One?

Navis One has a maximum speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Can I charter Navis One to start in Myanmar and end in Vietnam?

Yes, on Navis One anything is possible, currently she is in Asia from December to May and the rest of the year in Europe.

Are there recommended itineraries I can choose from?

We have a number of curated itineraries from which you can choose. However, should you wish to create your own itinerary, we will take you wherever you want to go.  We pride ourselves on tailor-made yachting experiences and so we will aim to accommodate your every wish throughout your stay on Navis One.
